Match Your System With the Volvo Antenna
Your Volvo vehicle includes an important structural component called the Volvo axle. This auto part is responsible for maintaining the position of the wheels that are relative to each other and to the vehicle body as well. Since the wheels are the only part touching the ground for most vehicles, they must be able to tolerate the acceleration forces between the ground and the vehicle, including the weight of the vehicle.
Depending on the automobile’s design, Volvo axles may serve one or more of the following purposes, either for drive, braking and/or steering. To accelerate the vehicle, axles may be incorporated into the drivetrain, so that the mechanical system can exert a rotational force on the axle. On the other hand, axles may improve the braking system by applying force to break the rotation of the axle so that the vehicle may be slowed down. Lastly, the axle may be seen in front of your vehicle which is referred to as a steering axle. By controlling the direction of the rotational axis of your front wheels relative to the body and rear wheels, the vehicle can be easily maneuvered.
The structural features of axles also vary. Tandem axles are made up of closely situated two or more axles. These can be found mostly on trucks which require a strong support because of its greater weight capacity. When the wheel on each side is attached to a separate shaft, then it is called a split axle design. This type allows an independent suspension on the right and left wheels.
Finally, the straight axle can support much heavier loads and keeps the wheel positions steady even under stress. Strain hauling may be very stressful to your vehicle that is why you need a strong support and that’s the job of the Volvo axles. Other Volvo suspension parts include Volvo ball joint and Volvo coil springs.
