Keeping Toxic Gases Out with Volvo Exhaust
Your Volvo model deserves nothing but the best parts to deliver greater function and performance, much like the Volvo exhaust. The exhaust of your vehicle is one system that will define your driving experience on the street and on the strip. An efficient exhaust system will carry the harmful exhaust gases away from the engine, away from you and the other occupants of your auto, and then convert some of the harmful gases into non-harmful ones. Part of the exhaust system of your Volvo vehicle is the Volvo catalytic converters and Volvo oxygen sensors that effectively reduce the toxicity of emissions and lessen emission output.
In general, the Volvo exhaust will simply vent the waste gases from the engine. Oftentimes, some of the more advanced exhausts out there may include a number of performance devices all working together in harmony. The exhaust gases may flow through a turbocharger, a catalytic converter to reduce air pollution, and a muffler for noise regulation.
The entire exhaust system of your Volvo starts with the exhaust manifold of the engine, the part that is designed to collect the exhaust gases from multiple cylinders and then combine these into one single pipe. This specific part is often made from cast iron, and at times, may even incorporate material-saving design techniques.
The gases are then delivered to the catalytic converter, wherein the conversion of harmful gases into non-harmful ones takes place. And from the converter, the exhaust will then flow through another pipe to the muffler. In most vehicles, the exhaust gases can now flow out of the tail pipe. However, in some models, these gases will then pass through a secondary muffler that is called the resonator. All these devices that constitute the exhaust of your Volvo are tightly secured by hangers, clumps, and rubbers.
