Heat it Up With the Volvo Heater Core
The Volvo heater core is a finned, water-to-air-heat exchanger that is found underneath the right side of your vehicle’s dashboard. As part of the vehicle heating system, this component provides heat to the passenger compartment air stream. This is actually the result of its cooling functions. Through the hose, the coolant enters the heater core from the vehicle’s cylinder head. The heat, with the aid of the fan, is absorbed by the coolant and is then transferred to the air flowing through the heather core. Now, the partially-cooled coolant flows back to the pump.
Normally, the heater core is ignored or taken for granted during summer. It is only during winter when drivers go crazy with the heather core, hoping theirs is still working perfectly. This time, you temporarily kiss your car’s A/C goodbye and enjoy the heat as opposed to the chiller cold from Mother Nature.
Don’t you know that the heater core can be very useful even summer or even not? Try to recall that universal advice when you experienced overheating. You have to turn on the heater with the fan at full blast right? The logic behind this is easy to understand. The heating system can actually act as a secondary cooling system. It is the heater core that aids the primary radiator in cooling the coolant.
Yes, the Volvo heater core is not only responsible for keeping the passenger compartment warm during winter, for that matter. It also acts like the Volvo radiator in cooling the engine. And because this amazing device is quite versatile, you have no reason to ignore it, not even during summer. If your old heather core has been damaged already, then look for a replacement right away. This is too easy because available in our store are replacement parts for your Volvo vehicle. Check them out now!
