Radiator hose: Nerveline of Volvo cooling system

Designed for heavy duty service, the Volvo radiator hose is a long lasting, top quality feet service component in the cooling system. Just like other auto internal parts, the radiator hose is susceptible to damage and therefore in need of your attention. You have several reasons why you should practice regular inspection. For one, it avoids damages which can be a threat to road safety. It is also the key to stretch the lifespan of the vehicle components and therefore will save you from expensive repairs as well as replacements.

Talking about replacements, changing your radiator hose is not complicated. It only entails do-it-yourself procedures. First, check that both ends of leaking hose are easily accessed before you start the job. The clamp must be tightened using the screwdriver if the leak is coming from around the clamp holding on the hose end. It would be great if you put on either plain water or pure antifreeze or mixed. Never attempt to open the radiator hose or loosen the radiator hose clamp when the engine is still hot or as there is a tendency that the coolant spray out and burn you.

If you believe there is an occurrence of leaks, switch the engine off to avoid further heating. It is necessary that you know which radiator hose is leaking and where it is coming from. Prepare a gallon of antifreeze and the replacement radiator hose. Use the screwdriver to loosen the hose clamps at both ends of the hose you are replacing. By twisting and pulling where it connects to the Volvo radiator and engine, detach the radiator hose then remove the hose clamps from the old radiator hose and slide them onto the new hose.

When maintained properly, the radiator hose will not suffer from early wear and tear, then again, all vehicle parts are subject to deterioration. Fortunately, you can easily get your new Volvo radiator hose. We got replacement cooling system parts in our catalog. Here, you can be sure that only durable and tough products are available.
