Getting a decisive spark from your Volvo spark plug wires
The Volvo spark plug wires are designed to carry electrical voltage from the ignition system to the Volvo spark plugs . For a significant purpose, the spark plug wires are built to have a low resistance, allowing the maximum amount of energy to be transferred. The process of energy transfer however can be interrupted by a number of factors. Topping the list, the spark plug wires can become unconnected from the spark plug terminal due to the increase pressure.
This is especially true if the combustion gases leak past the spark plug. Its opposite effect can take place and the gases can cause the spark plug and the spark plug wire to corrode and fuse together. The occurrence of arcing will most likely happen if moisture becomes trapped in the spark plug hole or between the Volvo spark plug and the spark plug wires. This can create a permanent damage to both the spark plug and the spark plug wires. In the same manner, routing spark plug wires in areas with too much heat can ruin the silicone insulation.
You would have to replace the spark plug with proper amount of care. As you attempt, never pull on the spark plug wire. Grasp the spark plug boot firmly and gently remove it instead. The engine must be cold to prevent the connectors from becoming loose. Ideally, the spark plug wires must be replaced if their resistance exceeds the standard specifications for their application. And because of the unpredictability of the internal condition of each individual wire, it is a universal rule to change the wires as a set.
Normally, wires do fail from the inside to the insulation materials breakdown. The occurrence of rough or erratic idle, poor acceleration, and decreased in fuel mileage must prompt you to inspect the ignition wires. And should you need to replace your Volvo spark plug wires, depend on us. We have Volvo replacement parts including Volvo distributor cap , Volvo transmission mount , as well as Volvo parts and Volvo accessories in stock. They are all waiting for meticulous customers like you!
